Exclusive Exhibition -Meena Bazar classics

                     
                   
Lopamudra Mandal, former Miss Kolkata and current Mrs India IAB 2018 First Runner Up successfully curated a spectacular Rakhi edition of Meena Bazaar Classics, that fused fashion and entertainment under one roof on Tuesday, July 30th, at Hyatt Regency in Kolkata.

The motto of the exhibition was to indulge people in retail therapy and help them choose their 'comfort buys', and staying true to its theme, Meena Bazaar Classics turned into a fun filled shopping and eating extravaganza, in an otherwise mundane monsoon day of Kolkata.
Around 50 exhibitors from all over the country were featured in this exhibition, along with spa, makeup and nails art stations, tarot card reading, tattoo studio, dessert stalls, live food counter, hookah lounge, active bar and much more. Fashion and apparel designers from all over the country displayed their creations, setting up stalls of ethnic wear, jewellery and even handbags and purses. The special Rakhi edition of this much-awaited exhibition also saw counters selling Rakhis and handmade cards for the upcoming occasion!
  Meena Bazaar Classics had its heart in the right place as it featured stalls of NGOs in this Fall edition of the much celebrated fashion and lifestyle exhibition.

Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Smarane

Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Smarane' was held on 27 July at Ajitesh Mancha, Kolkata. 

'Mahanayak Uttamkumar Shraddhanjali Committee' presented a splendid cultural program and awards ceremony, supported by 'Imperial Entertainment'.  Media Partner was 'Hello Kolkata'

Premiere of 'Kalchokro'

The starry Sunday eve of 28th July at Birla Planetarium witnessed the premiere of 'Kalchokro'- a unique short film produced by Boby Mondal (Innomania Motion Pictures), based on a riveting tale of 'predestination paradox' by debutante Jayashree Khara. 

      Esteemed Guests of Honour for the eve included veteran actors Anamika Saha & Barun Chakraborty. Special guests included popular actor Palash Ganguly. 

      Mementos of appreciation were handed over to the cast & crew of the film 'Kalchokro' and also other ardent well-wishers of 'Innomania Motion Pictures'. 

   For her continued support to new talents, Boby Mondal, Producer of IMP, was felicitated by Asish Basak, Editor-Director, 'Hello Kolkata'.

Youthon+

Youthon+ is 'Youth Marathon' – Run for “My Right to Education 4 Opportunity”, organized by SPAN (Society for Peoples’ Awareness). SPAN is going to host YouThon+ in Doars, Jalpaiguri District with 200 vulnerable youth participants of the tea gardens area on August 4, 2019.

     Youthun+ is curated, hosted & powered by Tanveer Khan, eminent Development Sector Professional & PR Expert (Advisory) and Curator of 'The Dot Talks'.

  The Associate Partner of Youthun+ is National Academy of Media & Events.

  Annie Jain (Annie Creations), as Pre-Event Partner of YouThon+ 2019, had organised a fabulous meet on July 25 eve at Levels the Club, Salt Lake Sec V(Venue Partner).

A Tour Back in Time -- Tribute to Kamal Das Gupta

Gramophone Co. of India had released the set of 10 Bengali Modern Songs captioned “A tribute to Kamal Das Gupta” under RAGA Music Label in 1998. All the songs were tuned by Kamal Das Gupta and lyricist Pranab Roy. This album has been remixed and remastered with original vocalist Shusmita Anis, iconic singer of Bangladesh. 

  The launch of the album was on 26th July at Kolkata. The songs will be digitally available on the birthday of both Kamal Das Gupta and Feroza Begum, on July 28. 

    Shusmita Anis presents a set of songs that was directed by Feroza Begum. The songs have been remixed and remastered to be digitally available across all audio platforms and in Shusmita Anis YouTube channel.

    Kamal Das Gupta, the legendary composer and music director, was directed almost 8000 songs in the 1940’s to 50’s that captivated millions of listeners of the subcontinent in the Past decade. 

    Feroza Begum directed the entire album that was originally released from RAGA MUSIC from India in 1998. Between “Peeu Peeu Gaye Papiya” to “Amar Chayati Dekhechi” there are eight other vintage melody numbers – A collector’s item indeed. 

   Shusmita Anis said, “A number of songs my Pishi wanted me to sing – that was never released earlier by any artist. I am truly grateful to Almighty to have this unique opportunity to have been able to sing these songs. Now I am releasing digitally on their birthday, July 28”.

Youthun+ is a 'Youth Marathon' – Run for “My Right to Education 4 Opportunity”.

   SPAN is working with the deprived, vulnerable children, youth and women group in the tea gardens in Jalpaiguri to ensure their participation and rights in their life as well as to be accountable to become active citizen of India. SPAN always tries to make different opportunities for them, through which they can grow. SPAN is working with various marginalised groups in those backward communities across West Bengal since last thirty years with the valuable support of various local, national and international stakeholders.

   Yoithun+ also will be a kind of opportunity making initiative for the youth of tea gardens area of this district. Most of the youths did not get the proper infrastructure and inclusive professional environment through which they can transform their abilities into opportunities after completing the elementary education.

   SPAN think quite differently time and is set to organise YouThon+ Youth Marathon.

 The objective is to create an Opportunity through equitable and quality education. Most of the tea gardens area’s youths have the exceptional physical ability and they did not get the proper transport communication system from their childhood, so they have to walk and run to travel. Now they will utilise their ability and will convert this ability into opportunities through this Marathon. So, this is not only a competition to run and win but also this is an equal opportunity to all participants to prove and to grab the opportunity for betterment in life. 

Easy Note Stationary private limited awarded 30 underprivileged girl students to give them motivation for higher education. And along with that they launched their new logo this ceremony was witnessed by Shri. Sujit Bose, MLA of Bidhannagar North 24 parganas, Shri. Atin Ghosh, Deputy Mayor, Kolkata Municipal cooperation, Ms. Baisali Dalmiya, MLA Bally West Bengal and popular Tollywood Actor Anindya Chatterjee & Ms. Shalini Biswas was present to address media. Glam Winners Lend a Helping Hand to Needy Children

The Winners of VVN Entertainment Teen Mr. Miss & Mrs Universe 2019 had celebrated their win and joy in a unique manner with the little angels of 'Aashiyana Happy Home'.

    The much-awaited Grand Finale of the Pageant took place at ITC Grand Dwarka (Delhi). Sneha Chakraborty, eminent actor/model, Mrs India Universe Kolkata 2018 is the State Director of the show. She has also done the national Grooming and had been crowned with the title of Mrs. India Universe Empress (VVN).
    Rimita Sen has won the title of VVN Mrs. India Universe 2019 and the subtitle Mrs Photogenic. Rimita, a mother of two and happily married since last 12 years, has also acted in a Hindi movie.
     Barnali Chatterjee has won the title of VVN Mrs. Universe Asia Zone 2019 and the subtitle Mrs Popular. She is an IT professional and a jewellery designer, happily married with a 1.5 years daughter.

Rath yatra Utsav Cooking contest at newtown sukhabristi

12 excitingly talented cooks and food-lovers participated in 'Rathayatra Special BHOG-Ranna Contest', presented by 'Newtown Shukhobrishti Jagannath Society', in association with 'Hello Kolkata', on 11th July eve.

  The deserving winner was Madhusmita Sasmal ('Jagannath Special') and joint runner-ups were Sweta Srivastava ('Kaddu Ki Barfi') and Madhumita Ghosh ('Radhaballavi').

    Other contestants who presented delicious dishes of various items were Chandana Das, Madhuri Mahato, Pinki Bose, Monalisa Chakraborty, Queen Kumari, Sushmita Pramanik, Sanjana Kukunur, Saswati Bose and Smita Chakraborty.

    The Jury Members were Magician Somnath, Atun and Sukanya Roy.

    Magician Somnath also put up a scintillating magic show after the cooking contest to regale the audience, comprising of all ages.

Instagram ties up with YLAC India for Counter Speech Fellowship in Kolkata

Instagram, in association with Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC), launched its flagship youth program - the Counter Speech Fellowship. Coming to Kolkata for the second time in two years, the Fellowship is a part of Instagram’s efforts to be the safest and kindest platform for teens to express themselves, informed Tara Bedi, Public Policy and Community Outreach Manager, Instagram, India.

The Counter Speech Fellowship engages creative teens to use the power of visual storytelling to start meaningful conversations on issues that are important to young citizens around the world. The program is built around the idea of using arts for positive expression and advocacy, and is designed as an incubator for the future generation of leaders and activists. In 2019, the fellowship will be launched in Kolkata, Guwahati and Hyderabad and will focus on six themes - bullying, diversity, mental well-being, body positivity, gender equality and sustainability, informed Rohit Kumar, Co-Founder, YLAC India.

The fellowship was launched in 2017 and expanded to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata in 2018. 180 teen leaders have graduated from the fellowship so far across these cities.

participated in 'Rathayatra Special BHOG-Ranna Contest', presented by 'Newtown Shukhobrishti Jagannath Society', in association with 'Hello Kolkata' on 7th July eve.

  The joint winners were Shanta Debnath ('Rashabara') and Madhumita Ghosh ('Gajorer Sandesh'), closely followed by Madhab Ghosh ('Malpoya' & 'Rabri'). Other contestants who presented delicious dishes of various items were Chaitali Banerjee, Chandana Das, Ishita Banerjee, Lalita, Ronita Banerjee, Sukla Banerjee, Madhuri Mahato, Payel Ghosh, Rakhi Modak Nayek, Piu Haldar and Smita Chakraborty.

Rathayatra Utsav' by 'Newtown Shukhobrishti Jagannath Society'

Newtown Shukhobrishti Jagannath Society' has organized a mega fiesta- 'Lord of the Universe Fest' ('Rathayatra Utsav') from 3 - 12 July at Newtown Shukhobrishti Complex.

   Apart from 56 Bhogs & Arati each day, the festival has a well-spread Fair, showcasing various items, along with a range of cultural programs on stage for wholesome entertainment for all ages, informed Sri Subhodeep Mallick, Organizing Secretary, NSJS.

Two New Music Albums

Eagle Eye Entertainment and Angel Digital had officially released their  wo music albums - "Tara Tui To Amar Maa" and "Tor Ai Valobasari Chhoya Ke". The glittering ceremony was held at Kolkata Press Club on 4th July eve.

   "Tor Ai Valobasari Chhoya Ke" is sung by Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016 champion Soumen Nandi and Sangita Deb.

   "Tara Tui To Amar Maa" is sung by renowned singer Ranvir Roy,     

       A host of dignitaries from various sectors of the society, including singer Kamalika Chakrabarty from Zee Bangla and Junior Kishor Mondal from Star Jalsa, had graced the occasion.
